Audi Calamaro Concept flying car

The Audi Calamaro Concept was developed by a designer Tibor for a design competition, organized by Porsche Hungary. This futuristic flying concept car looks like a cross between a speed boat and a plane.

According to the designer, the shape is inspired by “the bone of the cuttlefish”.

We can’t see any propellers, tires or thrusters. We can only assume it will be powered by a new type of power source that hasn’t been developed yet. It is a very interesting concept, but in addition to the unknown futuristic engine it makes us ask how will it park or turn? Perhaps like the cars in Back To the Future sequel.

Mercedes S Class by Wald

t takes a Japanese tuner to make a German luxury limousine look this good. This is Wald International’s take on the Merceds Benz S Class; they call it their Black Bison treatment. The body kit gives the Benz a much more aggressive appearance, what normally looks like an oversized boat has been transformed into a menacing machine with its fair share of vents and additional lighting.

The body kit consists of a redesigned front bumper spoiler, lower side skirts, a new rear bumper spoiler, a trunk spoiler, a roof spoiler and sports inspired ducts in the fenders. All made from lightweight fiberglass reinforced plastic. Finishing off the back end of the vehicle, Wald offers a high performance exhaust tuned for either the S350 or the S500. Wald offers a variety of wheels in all sorts of styles and sizes to complete the package.

Bentley SenseS: A future where the car

The Beast:

Bentley SenseS is a futuristic car concept that aims to integrate the driver and his vehicle as one with the help of genetic engineering, biotechnology and artificial intelligence. The concept car is unique and special and is custom crafted to match the needs of each individual user. The car grows and learns along with its driver and becomes a machine that recognizes the needs, emotion and feelings of its driver without any external assistance.

The Machine:

Designed by Arturo Peralta, this concept Bentley of the future roads portrays a flowing design and a wonderful aerodynamic body that reduces the wastage of energy. The SenseS attempts to make a connection with its driver and in course of time recognize him and understand all his feelings and emotions. Rather than being a car, it acts more like your loyal steed and becomes a part of your daily drive.

Boom Boom Candles Sadly Not Explosive

From meninos, the same company that's bringing us tampon flash drives, comes some Photoshop/Illustrator picture boards. They're basically magnetic whiteboards that come with magnet sets that look like the various Photoshop/Illustrator toolboxes. The toolbox magnets for either program will set you back $25, $65 with a 20" magnetic board, and $80 with a 30" board. So buy one for your cubicle, and then start hanging all your memos/emails. That way when your boss comes by to ask why you haven't done jackshit for the day, you can tell him the most recent memo was clearly a fake, and has been Photoshopped -- you could tell because the shadows were all wrong. You will then be applauded for your detective skills and promoted. Or fired. Hopefully fired.

BMW Launches the Mini Graphite

The car itself is largely unchanged, but if you want a distinctive paint job on your new car, you might want to check out the special edition Mini Graphite.

Available as a Mini One, Cooper and Cooper D, it offers up a dark silver metallic paint finish, black bonnet stripes, white indicator lenses, a piano black interior, a graphite badge on the B-pillars, and 15-inch alloy wheels. Aside from that, this is your average Mini, so whether you want one probably depends on whether you like the car in the first place.

2010 Nissan QX56

Nissan has announced a $1,000 price increase on its carryover 2010 Infinit QX56 full-size SUV. The 2010 QX56 will range in price from $56,915 for the two-wheel-drive model to $60,015 for the four-wheel-drive model. Prices include an $865 destination charge.

The QX56 gets a standard 5.6-liter 320-horsepower V8 and a five-speed automatic transmission.

Ener1 contemplates the Japanese Market with Itochu Partnership

Ener1, the leading lithium-ion producer of the US, is contemplating the possibility of expansion as it teams up with ITOCHU Corporation. ITOCHU has played a major role in providing specialized equipment and materials to different lithium-ion manufacturers around the world.

Recently, the two partner companies have signed a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) that sets the parameters of their relationship with each other. The MOU centers on Ener1’s entry into the Japanese market.

ITOCHU has established networks and partnerships with Japan’s automotive community. With this strategic partnership, Ener1’s entry into the new market should be smooth sailing.

This partnership also sets the floor for Ener1’s entry into Japan’s solar power market. This new niche provides further possibilities for Ener1’a already thriving business.

To date, Ener1 is the sole company capable of large-scale lithium-ion production in the United States. It produces enough batteries to support 1.17 megawatt hours of electricity every year. With an even stronger partnership with ITOCHU, Ener1 is looking at a 3.12 megawatt hours expansion this year.

New Audi R8 V10 First Official Photos

These photos of the Audi R8 V10 have been published by a website from Holland, before Audi managed to make them public officially.

The latest supercar from Audi will be powered by a 5.2L V10 engine with 528HP, the same engine that is found under the hood of Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4. It can also be found in the race version Audi R8 LMS GT3. As for the interior, the car comes with a Bang & Olufsen audio system and Nappa leather.

Want some numbers? The Audi R8 V10 will do the 0-100km/h sprint in 3.9 seconds, with a maximum speed of 315 km/h.

The price of an Audi R8 V10 is 140,800 euro.

Hyundai Set to Bring “Benz-Beater” to US

Hyundai will be exporting the 2010 edition of its Equus sedan. The Equus is a large rear-drive luxury car meant to take on the likes of the BMW 7 series and Mercedes S-class. Hyundai management has been encouraged by the positive reception for the medium-sized Genesis, and wants dip its feet deeper in the luxury market. One hundred Equuses will be shipped to US dealers at around $75,000. It’s not yet known what equipment will be on the hundred. The Equus presently has a respectable 290 hp 3.8 L V-6 standard and an optional 366 hp 4.6 L V-8 for those seeking added “oomf.”

Scion Hako Coupe Concept

Scion took the wraps off of its latest concept Wednesday, 19th March at the 2008 New York Auto Show. Dubbed the Hako Coupe is intended to the video game playing younger generation. Scion’s Hako Coupe Concept is a very rare show car which in Scion’s own words is ‘polarizing’.Scion vice president Jack Hollis explained that Hako Concept’s look is the sporty version of a box, but in fact looks more like an armored truck. The front of the car is highlighted with a load of LED headlights, a large upper grille and smaller lower grille. The hugely flared fenders are filled by eighteen inch wheels and 225 series tires with a special tread that spells out the name SCION, and a perfectly vertical windshield to complete the boxy look. The back features include LED taillights and backup lights meshed into the car’s exhaust. The Hako Coupe’s roof has a barcode pattern. That is eventually going to turn into rooftop wallpaper similar to pc wallpaper.

The Scirocco GT24

Volkswagen has just introduced their racing edition of the Scirocco GT24 at Wörther Lake for the world to see. Yet, this race car has been tested by the champions Carlos Sainz and Hans-Joachim Stuck. Volkswagen has also concentrated on their 16-valve injection engine with a turbocharger and an intercooler system, to maximize torque up to 340 Newton meters.
